This article praises the Managed Portfolio Service of Idema Idema Investments, that stands out as the best online investment solution currently available in Canada.
The article also states that:
"Our ideal model for independent do-it-yourself investors is investing for the long term in index exchange traded funds, using an asset allocation (between equities and debt securities) appropriate to the investor’s circumstances, and to use low-cost discount brokers for execution and custody."
This description corresponds in all aspects to Idema Investments Do-It-Yourself Service. The only criticism of the article about our Do-It-Yourself Service is as follows : "we suspect many investors will be turned-off in the long term by the obligation imposed on the investor to synchronize his/her discount broker and Idema accounts." To this end, we would like to recall that, given the limited number of transactions required annually combined with the automated management of all transactions related to dividend payments, the time required for the account synchronization is usually minimal and is limited to entering the trades executed at the broker in our system .
