Les Affaires Plus - The risk of preferred shares
In its Summer 2017 edition, the Les Affaires Plus magazine published an article (in French only) entitled "Le risque des actions privilégiées" on page 31. This article by Ian Gascon, president of Idema Investments, explains the different risks of canadian preferred shares. It also highlights the fact that all preferred shared shares do not react in the same way to a given change in interest rates and that it is also important to diversify a portfolio in several asset classes and even though preferred shares can offer interesting tax benefits.
