Finance et Investissement : Understanding currency hedging
In its October 2014 edition, the Finance et Investissement newspaper published an article (in French only) from Sophie Stival entitled "Bémol sur la coverture de change" on pages 24. This article on currency hedging quotes Ian Gascon, president of Idema Investments, and explains the main factors to consider before choosing the desired currency exposure for a canadian investor's stock portfolio. It states that not hedging currency exposure can actually reduce the long volatility of a portfolio.
