Journal Les Affaires - To each his own ETF
Dominique Beauchamp of the Journal Les Affaires wrote an article (in French only) entitled « À chacun son FNB » on pages i-2 and i-3 of the November 20th 2012 publication. She recommends four portfolios of exchange traded funds (ETF) of which two where suggested by Ian Gascon, president of Idema Investments, diversify a bond portfolio. The article explains the benefits on each selected ETF based on their management fees, diversification and fiscal efficiency.
Please note that two small errors show up in the article. ZAG does not use a swap structure, it is in fact a fund that invests in other ETFs and is not exposed to a counterparty risk as implied by the article. Also, XCS completes the exposure to Canadian large capitalization corporations of ZCN rather than VO.
